How can I get rid of a rat in my bedroom?
You probably dread the moment when you discover a rat living merrily inside your home. And if there's one thing worse than discovering a rat inside your attic or basement, it's learning there's a rat living inside your bedroom - the most private place, where we like to think we're safe. Yet rats can get into your bedroom, as easily as they would any other part of your home, so in this article, we'll be looking at methods to successfully get a rat out of your bedroom.

First things first, what's the rat doing in your bedroom, anyway?
It's important to remember that rats, much like any other creature in this world, are looking for two things: food and shelter. It's quite probable that the reason the rat has come to your bedroom in the first place is that it offers one or the other (or in rare cases, even both).

See, rats tend to be quite clever creatures, so it's quite unlikely that it's come in looking for shelter. The rat knows you're going to be spending a fair bit of time in there, which increases its chances of being discovered and potentially killed. So it probably won't think of your bedroom as an ideal place to make a nest for itself, unless your bedroom is exceptionally crowded or dirty. Rats tend to love boxes and other such storage items because they provide ready homes.
